Fuller Brand History

Fuller was formally established in 1926,but its history traces back to a foundry in Lehigh Valley,Pennsylvania,USA.This industrial hub,with 18 cement plants within a 75-mile radius,was a crucial center for the American Industrial Revolution,where Fuller played a significant role in its development.

Under the leadership of James W.Fuller III,the company evolved from a foundry into a full-service cement industry supplier,designing specialized products and processes for cement and other industries,many of which are still being sold today.In fact,Fuller-Kinyon®pumps and Ful-Vane™compressors,two traditional Fuller products,have become increasingly popular since the company's acquisition by FLSmidth.

After acquiring Traylor Engineering in 1959,larger projects such as kilns,mills,Crushers,and other equipment suitable for the mining industry emerged.This enabled Fuller to maximize its overall production capacity,serving both the cement and mining industries.

Fuller became a part of FLSmidth in 1990.However,according to industry history,the two companies had known each other since the 1890s.The story goes that one of the founders of FLSmidth&Co.,Poul Larsen,visited Pennsylvania to see the newly developed rotary kiln installed by Fuller-Lehigh at Atlas Cement.Poul took the idea back to Europe,where it apparently gained popularity,but he could never have predicted that these two industry giants would one day combine their expertise and equipment portfolios to become the world's leading provider of cement and mining industry solutions.
